Can I have my sketched book in time for Christmas?
Sorry, no. We won’t even receive the books until January. Sketching will happen in February/March/April.

What is the difference between 2 Books Sketched (Batch #) and 2 Books Sketched + Additional Sketched books
These two pledge levels are identical except for the Additional Sketched books level allows you to purchase more sketched copies of Broken Wind or Delegates and Delegation as add-ons after the Kickstarter closes. The regular Sketched books levels will allow you to purchase additional books, but not additional sketched books. The Additional Sketched Books level is designed for people who want to be able to combine their Sketched Book orders to save on shipping, or for people who want to give Sketched copies of BW or DD as gifts.
Another thing to note is that due to the likely complexity of the Additional Sketched books orders, they have the latest fulfillment deadline.

How come you're doing two books at once?
In print we’re on book 15, online we’re airing book 19. We’d like to be able to catch up so that the print books are done close after the story finishes online. Preparing two books at the same time was an experiment to see if that sped up the process or if it caused more problems. Releasing them simultaneously is also an experiment.

Once we hit a stretch goal with coins will there be a way to get coins without buying books?
Yes. Once we hit that goal, there will be a Coins Only pledge level which will allow coins and digital purchases, but no books.

Can I add one of your t-shirts to my order?
Sorry, no. The only items which will be available as add-ons are the ones listed in the add-on chart. T-shirts are print-on-demand and are shipped directly to customers from our print-on-demand shirt partner. Thus we don’t have the ability to group them with Kickstarter items.

I live near you, can I just pick up my package and save on shipping?
We don’t have a mechanism to allow this without making personal appointments with a hundred or more different people who may or may not show up at those appointments. Individual appointments to pick things up are a huge burden on Sandra’s schedule. We’d have to apply a surcharge to pay for her time which would be roughly equal to, or more than, the shipping cost.

Is it really $25 to ship one coin internationally?
Unfortunately, yes. We are charged a flat $25 fee for the first 2lbs of an international package. So there is no difference in cost for a 4oz package and a 2lb package. We can’t use letter rates because of the thickness of the coins. However we do not increase our shipping charges for adding on coins. Shipping 10 or 20 coins will cost the same as shipping one. This means you can combine shipping with someone local to you to split the cost. I wish there were a solution we could implement on our end to cut that cost, but we haven’t found one.

What is a "sketched" book?
The final page of every Schlock Mercenary book is blank. Howard hand draws a sketch on this blank page to make a book sketched. When a book is released the sketches are numbered as Howard draws them. The only other way to get a sketch in your book is to go to an event where Howard is present and ask him to sign your book. However those sketches are not numbered.

I want to pledge for the story collection, but I also want coins. How do I get coins as an add-on?
You’ll have to do do this the other way around. Select the pledge level for the coins, and then add the story collection as an add-on. This will ensure that a shipping amount is included in your pledge.

What if I want Stories Only and Sketchbook Only, how do I get both without getting the other stuff?
Pledge either to Stories Only or to Sketchbook Only then increase your pledge to $8. When the survey comes, you’ll be able to indicate that the additional money is to buy the other item not listed in your pledge.

What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
